Why Should I Buy an Air Fryer?

Why Should I Buy an Air Fryer - Is an Air Fryer For Me?

Are you health conscious about what you put into your body?

Do you want to be?

...or maybe you don't care,

but your significant other, friends, family, etc. are lecturing you about eating more healthy.

You know you probably should . . . But you REALLY don't want to give up eating food that tastes good - at least not yet...

Do you hate the cleanup after making those fried foods that we all love so much?

If you can say 'YES!' to any of these, then you've come to the right place.

These nifty little kitchen gadgets have been on the market for several years now, and there are yet an astonishing amount of people that have never heard of them.

I was one of them.

I found out about them at the beginning of last December, when my wife said she wanted one.

So I decided to see what it was and decided to try one out.

To put it simply... I was floored.

I have since purchased another one for my mother and suggested them to at least a dozen of my friends...

Why do you ask?  Allow me to explain...

Cooking with an air fryer

Frying, Grilling, Roasting, and Baking...  Yes, it can do all of these things!

  • Want to cook a meatloaf?
  • Make garlic bread?
  • Make a cake?
  • Have fried chicken?
  • Roasted chicken?

Yep, you can do all of this and MUCH more.

However, I can tell you from experience that some models are better at certain things than others.

MUCH less oil! ...or no oil at all!

When you cook with an air fryer, you don't have to use oil at all for most recipes.

My personal preference though is to either put a light mist or toss the food first in oil, so it all has a very light coating.

Then you will get the fabulous tasting fried food taste without all of the extra fat, and also without all the soggy and dripping mess that is commonly associated with fried foods.

Yep... you read that correctly...

The same great taste of fried food with 50-90% LESS fat, less mess, less headache cleaning up, less guilt eating what you enjoy, and you're eating healthier while you're at it!

Less Time

Using an air fryer, I can make things I want to eat without using nearly as much of my time.

Just for example... let's say I wanted to cook some french fries...

Conventionally you could either fry them or bake them.

Baking fries in an oven, you need to take 10-15 minutes preheating the oven... Then you put your fries in, and you bake them for around 15-20 minutes or so.

That's around 30 minutes of your time wasted!

Frying fries in oil, you need to heat the oil first - so figure around 15 minutes for that.  Then you put the fries in the basket and drop them in...  5-6 minutes, and they are done...

Less time than baking, and tastes better... BUT that is still 20 minutes you've wasted, just to get soggy, greasy fries and then you STILL have to clean up the fryer and everything that splashed on the countertop afterward...

So, cooking fries in an air fryer?

Simple.  I put a little bit of oil on the fries, toss them around, so they are all lightly coated.   Takes me about 1 minute.

Now I put the basket in the air fryer and turn it on, and leave it (only if you bought a unit with a timer).  10-15 minutes later, you have great tasting fries, with less fat.

What about the cleanup you say?

Simple, I put the basket in the dishwasher and wash it with the next load of dishes... done.

What about the cost?

Sure, some people will worry about the cost up front...

I can tell you now that the air fryer will pay for itself if you use it though, and the prices on them have come down a decent amount over the past year or so, making your small investment pay off even more quickly!

Honestly, unless you are 100% sure that you will use an air fryer religiously, there is no need to purchase a several hundred dollar units.   Many are available quite a bit below 100 bucks now.

Consider this...

Every time you start up your oven how much gas or electric are you using?

Besides that, in the summertime, how much is that same oven heating your house up that you are then spending more money on air conditioning to cool it back down?

Trust me; it adds up!

Now every time you fry something, how often are you refilling the oil?

How often are you changing the oil?

I know my family was buying another bottle of oil almost every trip we took to the grocery store.

With air fryers, they use very little electricity.

Very little heat escapes the units (unless you get one of the open types, but then it is still less than an oven would heat your kitchen up).

AND they use very little if no oil at all!
